Rabbit Trails of Light

Have you ever awakened with a dream that seemed to make so many things clear to you?  I had one about a year ago and I managed to get it written down before it faded away.

Let me see if we can hop down this rabbit trail of light before it gets too tangled in the bushes.  I’ll list these as bullet points with a brief explanation.  Our SOW article Photons, Light and God/Source/Energy is also a good summary of a lot of this information.

  • Energy is the basis of ALL things.  The idea that "energy is the basis of all things" is a concept explored in science, particularly in physics and cosmology, and has also been discussed in philosophical and spiritual contexts. Essentially, it suggests that everything, including matter, and even space-time can be understood as manifestations of energy.  [Refer to Photons, Light and God/Source/Energy]
  • Energy is eternal.  The statement “energy is eternal” is generally true within the framework of physics.  The first law of thermodynamics states that energy cannot be created nor destroyed, but rather transforms from one form to another.  Energy doesn’t just appear out of nowhere or disappear into nothingness.  It is constantly changing forms, like chemical energy converting to heat and light when a fire burns.  Since energy cannot be created from “nothing” there is no point in time when energy “began”. Similarly, since it cannot be destroyed, there is no end in sight for the existence of energy.
  • Energy is CONSTANTLY flowing.  The molecules making up all matter contains a huge amount of energy.  Remember Einstein’s E=mc2  and the atomic bomb?
Energy can also travel in the form of electromagnetic waves and waves such as heat, light, radio, and gamma rays are to be found everywhere in our universe.  Energy is constantly flowing and changing form.  Your body is using metabolic energy from your last meal right now.

ALL of this energy, from the nuclear reactions from the atoms of the stars, to the light energy they give, to the plants using light energy to grow, to the animals who eat the plants for chemical energy and the energy expended by those animals all of this energy is thought to be from the initial “Big Bang”, or the energetic expansion of all energy in the universe at one moment.  This energy has been around “forever” and will be around in one form or another for just as long.  Energy “flowed” from the “big bang” and energy has been flowing ever since.   [Refer to Photons, Light and God/Source/Energy]
  • The word divine means shining. All of the energy of the cosmos (all that is known) and the shining (divine) IS all.  This suggests a unified concept where the known physical energy of the universe and divine energy are viewed as aspects of the same fundamental reality which would be necessary since energy is the basis of all things, is eternal, and is constantly flowing, or moving in action.  This implies a holistic view where all existence, both scientific and spiritual, is interconnected; hence Divine Science.
Try this concept.  Cosmic energy refers to the physical energy of the universe, encompassing what we know of matter, energy, gravity, electromagnetism and other fundamental forces at play in our universe.  Shining (Divine) energy evokes the concept of a greater (larger) power or consciousness.  If all that is is composed of the movement or flow of the energy of all that is and this all that is is everywhere, then how can the all that is be kept from knowing all that is?  And since the all that is is everywhere all at once, how can the all that is help from being able to do anything necessary anywhere at any time?

This suggests that shining (divine) energy is not separate from the cosmic energy, but is rather a fundamental aspect or manifestation of it.  Science and spirituality are not opposing forces, but rather different aspects of a larger and unified reality.  The universe and the divine are interconnected and ultimately one. [Refer to Photons, Light and God/Source/Energy]
  • There are two forms of energy: potential (stored) and kinetic (moving) energy.  It would seem then that energy may be actively stored and shared.  Like stars in the universe matter “ages” into various end results.  From dwarf stars full of mass and matter, to super novas going out with a bang and sharing their energy and matter with all, to black holes absorbing everything within their reach, full of matter, full of energy, and holding on to all and sharing little, if any.
  • If energy is flowing (kinetic) then it may be detected in some form.  For example cosmic rays may be detected, radio waves, TV waves, Cell phone waves, light waves, etc. may be received by receivers of the correct wavelengths.
  • Various life forms are able to receive and possibly detect these various “wave forms”.  While sound and vibrational waves are the most common examples, some life forms can also detect other wave forms, e.g. light waves (vision), electromagnetic waves (e.g. magnetic fields)
  • If the universe is “all information” even empty space is pure information.  This idea is based on the concept that the universe is not just composed of matter and energy, but also of fundamental information that dictates the structure and behavior of the universe, the Natural Laws.
Natural law thinking goes back to the earliest speculation of the Greeks in Stoicism.  It observed that there was a body of principles explaining behavior of natural phenomena that could be discovered intuitively and by pure reason and used to set standards of proper conduct; principles generally accepted by and common to civilized peoples – people living in close proximity who have developed a state of social and cultural development exhibiting advanced manners, laws, and customs, often marked by respect for others, order, and a degree of refinement.

The idea that the universe is a giant information-processing machine is gaining traction in contemporary science.  Everything, even space itself, can be understood as different states or configurations of information.  Space is NOT completely empty, but rather is filled with energy and subtle fluctuations. [Refer to Photons, Light and God/Source/Energy]

  • Information may be received by various individuals attuned to such energies.  Various individuals may be attuned to the wavelengths of various energies and the information “received” and communicated to others who are unable to “receive” that wavelength.  Such “channelers”, like an electronic “tuner”, may tune into the channel that they desire, or to a channel that desires messages to be received.
  • Energy is not a thing, but a capacity, it is an ability for action.  Think of lightening.  The movement of electrons alone is not lightening, it is the capacity of the atmosphere to carry the movement of electrons that is the lightening.  Life is not the vital energy, Life is the capacity to carry vital energy  [Refer to Photons, Light and God/Source/Energy].
Gray and white matter of the nervous system don’t carry “thoughts” but they have the capacity to carry thought energy.  Energy is the capacity to receive and transmit some form of energy that performs some sort of work.
Einstein’s E=mcis saying energy equals mass (physical stuff) multiplied by the speed of light squared.  It seems to say that if energy=mc2 then energy must have some mass components, yet we know that light has no mass and it still does work (generates electricity, evaporates water, is used in photosynthesis and MUCH, much more). [Refer to Photons, Light and God/Source/Energy]
  • Light has no mass, it has momentum which gives it a capacity to do work. Light is composed of photons which are massless, yet possess energy and momentum.  The photon’s momentum is proportional to its energy even though it has no mass.  [Refer to Photons, Light and God/Source/Energy]
  • Thought energy has no mass, yet, when given sufficient momentum IT has the capacity to do work. This concept is explored in physics, particularly in relation to photons and other massless particles which carry energy and momentum. This explores the idea that “thought energy”, even if lacking mass, can possess momentum and therefore the potential to do work, drawing parallels with the physics of massless particles like photons. [Refer to Photons, Light and God/Source/Energy]
The amount of energy in something depends on its mass multiplied by the square or the speed of light. Light travels almost 186,000 miles in one second.  One kilogram of mass is equivalent to almost nine quintillion joules of energy (9 with 18 zeros: 9,000,000,000,000,000,000). Unleashing that energy is exactly how nuclear reactors and nuclear bombs work…the gradual, or the extremely sudden, unleashing of all of the energy contained within a certain mass.

  • It would seem that a basic form of energy is thought energy.  Some theories propose that thoughts, as energetic signals in the brain, can also be associated with energy and momentum. It has been scientifically demonstrated that thoughts affect physical outcomes in science experiments.
  • Spirit has no mass.  Mass is a property of physical matter, and non-physical entities, like consciousness, mind, thought, or spirit.  These are, by definition, not composed of matter and are considered to exist independently of physical matter and thus would not have mass.
  • Spirit energy should be capable of traveling FASTER than the speed of light.  In philosophy, consciousness is discussed as a property of the mind (NOT brain), which itself is viewed as non-physical.  It views mind, including consciousness, as separate and distinct from the physical body.
  • One synonym for momentum is thrust.  Thus spirit energy is unlimited in thrust, or ability to motivate (move) thought into action (to do work).  In many spiritual contexts spirit energy is viewed as unlimited in its potential to motivate and is often seen as the source of a person’s inner drive, passion and perseverance as well as their connection to something greater than themselves.  Many spiritual traditions believe that spirit energy is connected to a universal source like the cosmos or a divine being.  Tapping into spiritual energy can foster personal growth, self-awareness, and a deeper understanding of self and Spirit (Divinity).
  • Thought precedes verbalization.  This statement generally holds true in that a thought or idea forms in the mind before it is expressed in language.  A fundamental aspect of human language is that thoughts are internal and then translated into verbal expression.  Many are familiar with the Genesis account where God “speaks” the cosmos into being.  In this is illustrated God’s thought processes before God spoke.  This also emphases God’s knowledge of human thoughts.  The concept of God thinking before speaking highlights his wisdom and purposeful action.
  • If God is a “great central Sun of thought energy” then God’s thoughts proceed through the cosmos at unlimited speed and unlimited thrust with the capacity to move into action, to do work.  This energy we may receive, tune into, and choose to assist or choose to ignore.
The “great central Sun of thought energy” symbolizes divinity’s role as the center of creation, the source of life, and the embodiment of divine intelligence. It suggests that divinity’s power and influence manifest through thought and intention rather solely through physical means.  This concept can be found in various spiritual traditions, including Buddhism, Hinduism, and Vedic practices, though the specific interpretations may vary.
  • Ignoring God will cause one to drift farther away from God/Source/Energy, the Great central Sun, and into ever greater darkness, ignorance, and ineffectiveness.
Just as the spacecraft Voyager has exited our solar system to drift ever deeper into interstellar space and only has a view of the sun that is bright as any other star in the night sky, and where earth is barely visible at all (see somewhere around here… at right), those who drift ever farther from God continue drifting into the darkness and ineffectiveness of removal from the light.

Ineffective things are usually eliminated from productive environments. The Bible, and a number of other spiritual references point out that ineffectual things are uprooted and burned up, that is their energy is released from their current form to transform into some other energy form.

I hope that following these Rabbit Trails of Light may stimulate you to consider more of the Divine Science of the Universe.
